Working toward safer teen driving
Our staff is made up of three full-time members, one part-time member and eight regional trainers.
YOVASO Staff members work throughout the year planning campaigns, retreats and events for member schools. Staffers also reach out to new schools to help set up peer-to-peer safe driving clubs and encourage membership in YOVASO. In addition, YOVASO staff attend school activities and events, present at safety conferences and school assemblies, develop new safety initiatives, work with student leaders, and disseminate boxes of materials and resources to member schools. The YOVASO staff has an overwhelming and unfailing dedication to teen traffic safety, each bringing unique strengths to the organization.
YOVASO Regional Trainers are college students that work for YOVASO on an hourly basis. These students serve as liaisons between YOVASO headquarters and member schools. Regional Trainers conduct YOVASO 101 Trainings and Action Planning in member schools. They also attend and participate in a variety of events during the school year, such as school award presentations, safety events, and annual YOVASO retreats. All YOVASO Regional Trainers are former leaders of their high school’s YOVASO club and provide invaluable peer-to-peer experience to the YOVASO Program. The Trainers are an integral part of YOVASO and our focus on youth leadership and development.
