The After Prom Grand Finale is an event at the end of the school year celebrating high school Juniors and Seniors across Southwest Virginia who make the safe choice to stay until the end of their school’s after-prom party. It was started by the Roanoke Area Youth Substance Abuse Coaltion (RAYSAC) in 1989 to entice teens to attend and stay until the end of their school’s after-prom parties by offering a chance to win a free car donated by First Team Auto in Roanoke!
In 2019, the Youth of Virginia Speak Out About Traffic Safety (YOVASO) Advisory Board took over ownership of the After Prom Grand Finale. The YOVASO Advisory Board, with its 18-year history of working to keep teen drivers safe on the roads, has supported this event for many years and is the perfect entity to carry the torch of After Prom Grand Finale. The YOVASO Advisory Board will work with First Team Auto, Virginia First and K92 to facilitate the 31st annual After Prom Grand Finale.
The YOVASO staff is excited about this opportunity for schools in Southwest Virginia to get involved in such an exciting and important event!
