Tell Me More!
The 2016 “Save Your Tailgate, Buckle Up” Campaign was a huge success! Seventy-two schools participated in the campaign which took place September 19 through October 14. SYT is a competition between participating Virginia schools to increase safety belt educational and awareness activities at middle and high school levels and to increase overall seat belt use among teenagers. The goal is to help students form a life-long, buckle-up habit! As always, schools that do not wish to compete may participate without competing! Among the schools that completed the 2016 campaign, seat belt use increased an average of 8.2 percent from pre-campaign to post-campaign.
